We seem to be spending more and more time on the World Wide Web. Created by Sir Tim Berners-Lee, this worldwide phenomenon has now seen us share, poke watch more video content than ever. Nothing could be more evident than the influence of YouTube. This Google owned video sharing site started out in February 2005, thanks to three employees who were working at PayPal. Whether you are sharing content, uploading or viewing video clips, there is no doubt that YouTube is one of the most popular sites out there. In fact, it has made stars out of celebrities that are now more popular than ever.
This includes the likes of Justin Bieber, who originally uploaded a host of clips to this particular site back in 2007. It was just a matter of time before manager, Scooter Braun discovered the pint-sized pop impresario. It was thanks to YouTube that Bieber was discovered, where he later went on to have a chance to meet with singer,Usher. Produced in 2008, Ai, se eu te pego! Is better known as Oh, If I Get You. This incredibly popular hit was originally sung by Sharon Acioly and Antônio Dyggs. An overwhelming success across Quebec, not to mention Latin America, the Brazilian group Cangaia de Jegue are responsible for this YouTube smash. It was not until 2011 that it grew, thanks to Brazilian singer, Michel Teló which has gone on to record more than 573 million views.

The official 2010 FIFA World Cup song has been seen by nearly 700 million people around the globe. The soccer genes seem to have rubbed off on Shakira, as she is currently dating FC Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique.

His flamboyant style, techno led tunes and infusion of South Korean lyrics has seen this cheeky singer reach unimaginable heights of fame. This out of the ordinary video enabled Psy to gain stardom with a host of television appearances and guest appearances. In only 50 days, Gangnam Style had attained 100 million views and has been seen by nearly half of the world’s population.
